The Story
X (Twitter) Africa wanted to go beyond the timeline. Behind every viral tweet is a real moment — an inspiration, a circumstance, a story no one saw. They partnered with VOME to create a content series that sat down with some of Africa’s most prominent cultural figures and personalities and uncovered what really happened behind their most iconic tweets.
The Craft
VOME developed the creative concept from the ground up and led full pre-production and directing. We built an intimate interview format that gave each personality the space to revisit a specific tweet and share the real story behind it — the moment, the mood, the meaning. Every shot was crafted with cinematic intention, making the series feel more like documentary storytelling than branded content.
The Impact
The series gave X a signature content format that humanised the platform across Africa, turning 280-character moments into full stories audiences could connect with. Cultural figures became more than their tweets — and the platform became more than a feed.
